COVID Resources

Newsletters

  • so very virtual- a weekly list of online opportunities, virtual events, and helpful resources for these pandemic times.

  • Covid Conscious Creatives- A collective that aims to facilitate connections with other creatives/artists and COVID-safe collaborations.

Websites/Accounts to Follow

Virtual Performance Options- The lack of mask-required performance makes seeing live theatre difficult for many folks. Here are some organizations committed to making theatre more accessible.

  • The League of Livestream Theatre- This organization partners with theatres all over to bring theatre in real-time to global audiences via live stream. Through LOLST, I have seen the Broadway production of Jocelyn Bioh's Jaja's African Hair Braiding and the Actors Theatre of Louisivelle's production of Johnathan Norton's I Am Deliverd't.

  • Hilma- Wilma Theatre- The majority of the Wilma shows have the option to stream a live recording after the initial run of the show. I was able to see Fat Ham from the comfort of my home.

Virtual Libraries

Queer Liberation Library is a digital library using OverDrive/Libby available to anyone with a U.S. address. QLL is especially needed as many books about by and about Queer people are being banned and removed from libraries.

COVID Testing

PCR-level testing has become increasingly inaccessible to most folks in the USA. Rapid Antigen Tests have not been updated for new variants and lack the sensitivity to recognize COVID-19 with lower viral load. Here are some options for more accurate tests.

  • Molecular tests give PCR-quality results at home. I recently invested in the Pluslife molecular Mini Dock and COVID-19 tests. You can find more information about this test system here and buy the Mini Dock here. Email me or the people at virus sucks for a generous discount code.

  • ICATT offers free no-cost COVID-19 Testing.
